The distinction between good and great portraits, whether individual or family portraits or a fashion shoot, is lighting, color, clothing, posture and perspective. Most of these elements are technical, but perspective is the approach of the talented photographic artist. Doug Wheeler’s innate instinct is so strong that even he is not always aware of how creative he is when staging a shoot.

Doug has a passion for getting a shot that reveals the inner soul of the subject of his current shoot. Fortunately, he has the technical equipment to provide what he needs to produce a result that has a “different” feeling in the results of his shoots. He takes the time to get a personal sensitivity for his subject and to agree on what the emotional mood he and his subject are seeking.
